Nature Photographer, Guide & Ecologist

I am an award winning wildlife photographer based in the beautiful and wildlife-rich county of Norfolk. I regularly guide photographic workshops in the UK & beyond, nature walks and bird ID courses. I work as a freelance ecologist on an 6,000 acre estate in my home county of Suffolk.

Although I consider myself a general naturalist with a broad knowledge of species groups, I specialise in ornithology and regularly teach bird identification courses in the UK. I am an experienced photographic guide and have been leading foreign wildlife holidays in Europe since 2018.

In 2017 I graduated in zoology from Swansea University and four months later I moved to the Arctic Circle to work as a photographic guide. I spent the following 2 years teaching people how to photograph the northern lights and nature in the stunning Abisko National Park. My photographic work led me to start up a photographic tour company in 2018, organising photo tours to Finland, in search of big predators, and my favourite animal, the Brown Bear. I stepped down from the company in 2022 but continue to guide regularly in Finland and beyond, see Experiences.

Alongside good friend Edwin Towler, we started a wildlife & adventure brand in 2020 called GoneFeral. Born out of the COVID lockdown, we began filming our local wildlife photography adventures, which gradually became less local. We’ve released 3 series and several films on YouTube, delivered filming & photography projects for Leica, MPB, Ford Iceland, Save Windermere and have shot two 8 & 10 page cover features for BBC Wildlife Magazine on Puffins and Lynx.

Please keep a close eye on the Experiences page, where upcoming wildlife photography workshops, tours, nature walks and courses will be shared. If you would like to book my guiding services for a nature event you’re considering, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
